South America Ready Or Not!

27 Apr

When Stuart decided he wanted to take on the challenge of two weeks motorcycling the back roads of Northern Peru we thought it a great way to start our six week South American adventure.

Now we’re counting down the hours and Captain Courageous is getting rather excited as he preps and packs.

Stuart’s is the big bag so he is kindly carrying my emergency supply of muesli (Peruvians are not terribly vegan-friendly).

I’m travelling as light as I can considering we are going into winter and will be in the Andes for some the time. No flamenco shoes this time.

With so many short flights and lots of schlepping of luggage less is best.

After Peru it’s wineries in Chile and Argentina plus a few other must dos before a dip into Uruguay then back to Brisbane via a weekend in Auckland for, you guessed it, a wine tour.

We’ve done all the ‘lasts’. Last trip to see Mum and Dad at the Gold Coast. Where else would you see one of these?

Last bush walk below Mt Jolly’s lookout.

Last healthy, home-cooked vegan lunch.

Two more sleeps and we will be there! Hasta la proxima!

You two are absolutely amazing. I look forward to opening my email and seeing an update on your adventures. Travel safe! Be careful of food and water in Peru.

Thanks for the tip Judith! I feel a bit silly carrying my nuts and muesli but my health is more important than my pride (;-)). Love to Larry. Sxx
